We will be submitting a new planning application for the railings at the front of 32-36 Parade Gardens (also known as Block E). We have written to all residents who live at these addresses with more information, and also met with some of you to discuss this further.
The original application had the height of the railings as 1100mm and the garden depth as 1785mm. This has now been revised to a height of 900mm and a garden depth of 1550mm.
Following discussions with some residents, the following suggestions were made:
- Raised planters as opposed to ones attached to the railings
- Increased depth of gardens (based on the depth needed for a wheelchair turning circle and raised planter)
- Reduce the gap under the railing (currently 75mm)
- Railings to be splayed out to reduce the pathway space from 34-37 Parade Gardens which will stop cars being driven along the pavement
Please feel free to review the following proposed plans:

Once we have residents' comments and suggestions, we can put these to the architect to amend the drawings and design and submit the application. We would also really appreciate any letters of support you can give the application once submitted. These need to be from individual households to give the most impact.
